Cyberport
has a mission to facilitate the I.T. and digital media workforce
development.
Sponsored by
the Office of the Government Chief Information Officer (OGCIO) of
HKSAR, Cyberport
has been
implementing
the "I.T.
Exchange Programmes" and "I.T. Internship Co-ordination &
Facilitation Programmes" since 2005.
Benefited
students can work as interns for a period of 6 to 12 months in order
to get on-job skills and trainings in the I.T. or digital media
areas. Companies which provide intern placements can enjoy
government funding to employ interns.
Apart from
sponsoring the companies, local universities and accredited
institutes can get government funding from providing IT-related
exchange programmes. Benefited students can then improve the
proficiency level in English and/or Putonghua, as well as widen
their international exposure by participating these exchange
programmes.
